West Windsor's Historic Villages
From the 1700s to the 1900s, several historic districts developed in West Windsor, each featuring a distinct identity that set it apart from the others. Some communities disappeared long ago but others still exist. These settlements, more than West Windsor overall, were what generations of residents called “home" until the late 1900s, and some of them are still identifiable today. The past half century has seen an unprecedented disappearance of much of our town’s historical sites, including in these historic districts. However, these communities remain critical vestiges of local history.
