Historic Markers
Permanent Placemaking
|
You might notice some fancy historic markers around town. Well, the Historical Society of West Windsor proud of them! They're part of our "Signage Project," highlighting historic landmarks around West Windsor Township. They're designed by Ohio-based Sewah Studios to last for decades, ensuring that residents and visitors remain connected to the stories that shaped our community. Since 2023, we've collaborated with the Township and neighbors to fund and install them - see the slideshow above. Each marker is typically produced with input from residents of the communities and sites they point out.
Our Signage Project is entirely funded by donations. We deeply thank those who have given so far (see list below). We hope to install many more, but we need your support to do so. How you can Help
We're a small, all-volunteer nonprofit (none of us gets paid) and these signs are expensive (about $3,000 apiece). We can only install as much as our funds can - so PLEASE CONTRIBUTE!
Donations may be tax-deductible to our 501(c)(3). You can donate two ways:
Ongoing Projects
We have several going on behind the scenes- stay tuned for more!
