The Padgett-Pinelli House
Historical Overview
Standing at 245 Washington Road is a wood-framed American four-square house with open front porch. This - the Padgett-Pinelli house - is a member of West Windsor's "100 Club" and a contributing element to the historic West Windsor community of Penns Neck.
According to township tax records, this house was constructed in 1915.[1] However, the Historical Society has not yet uncovered who built the house. The earliest confirmed owner (research is ongoing) was Wallace B. Padgett, who purchased the house in 1926[2] and lived there - presumably with his wife, Alice J. Padgett[3] - until he died in 1956 (after his wife).[4] Wallace bequeathed the property to Bessie A. Taylor who, in 1964, sold it to Michael and Alice Pinelli.[5] The property remained in Pinelli hands for over half a century before passing to new owners in 2015.[6]
