VoWW Interview #15 - Jyotima Prasad

Picture
Overview

"Voices of West Windsor" is a joint project between the Historical Society and SR Mosaic to fill in the gaps in our records of our town's history. We interview contemporary inhabitants of groups not typically found in our archives so that future residents can get a perspective decades later - much like how our perspectives of old West Windsor were obtained through interviews of longtime residents in the past.

West Windsor is generally considered a township that people are grateful for. Jyotima Prasad can relate – as head of the “Gratitude and Abundance” project, she has been working for the past 3 years to explore our town’s upsides. This week, Voices of West Windsor interviews her on how she sees the town and how G&A fits into our community.

Talking Points:

(On the history of Gratitude and Abundance in West Windsor)

"After a life-changing event, I began to look at life and cherish it. I wanted to bring this philosophy to the community. Several years back I began a workshop to realize this mindset. I was invited by the West Windsor Library to host my workshops there, and then expanded into corporate settings. Then were the schools. A few years back we also began the Gratitude Walk, which has been transformative. West Windsor is a truly giving community. The youth especially look for ways to give back. And during COVID the town has truly come together to support one another."

(On her visions of West Windsor and Gratitude and Abundance in the future)

"I envision that West Windsor will be known as a grateful and happy town; a role model for the world. We will continue being a thriving, healthy community."
