Each year, the Historical Society of West Windsor offers two (2) $500 scholarships:

The Reed Family Scholarship is given to one (1) college-bound senior from High School South . It honors Clifford L. Reed and Kay T. Reed - two lifelong Historical Society of West Windsor leaders who have helped preserve and promote local history for over four decades each. Kay was Historical Society co-founder in 1983 and Treasurer for 38 years, while Clifford also volunteered since the beginning and helped restore the Schenck Farmstead/West Windsor History Museum.

The Schenck Family Scholarship is given to one (1) college-bound senior from High School South . It honors Mary Schenck - Historical Society co-founder in 1983, a volunteer for over three dozen years. Mary's family also owned the Schenck Farmstead/West Windsor History Museum from 1899-1971.

ELIGIBILITY: In addition to being college-bound seniors, each student must meet the following criteria:
  1. Is a West Windsor resident.
  2.  Has a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  3. Has demonstrated a commitment to West Windsor Township through community service.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:
  1. Provide a list of your community service contributions in West Windsor Township. Include dates and volunteer hours.  
  2. Write a response (350 words or less) to the following prompt: "Why do you volunteer your time to West Windsor community activities?  How has your commitment to the West Windsor community contributed to the sustainment of West Windsor’s historical assets?  (These assets include, but are not limited to:  Schenk History Museum and Farmstead, West Windsor Farmers’ Market, West Windsor Scouts, West Windsor Library, WW Volunteer Fire Companies, West Windsor religious-sponsored youth groups, etc.)"
  3. Submit essay response and unofficial transcript via mail (see address below) or email (mrshonore201@gmail.com) by DATE.
